Alabama Home Care Specialists, LLC is a locally owned and operated business based in Decatur, Alabama. It was created with one idea: we want to assist families and their elderly loved ones in maintaining their independence at reasonable prices, but with quality care.

Alabama Home Care Specialists employs both home care aides and CNAs. We also have an RN and LPN on staff that are available to help monitor your loved one's needs. Each employee is carefully screened using background, sex offender registry, and nurse aide registry checks. Each is required to submit a TB test and is required to have a valid drivers license and verifiable auto insurance.
Alabama Home Care Specialists provides a variety of elder care services, from homemaking services to personal care services, as well as services specifically targeted for seniors with alzheimer's disease or dementia. AHCS provides elder care 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. AHCS works closely with most Long Term Care insurance companies, such as Genworth, Metlife, TransAmerica, New York Life, and many more. About Us
Natives of Decatur, Alabama, Derek and Erika Sheats, decided ten years ago that the aging community of North Alabama needed a family-owned and family-first agency for in-home senior care. With backgrounds in marketing and business development, and a passion to help others, Alabama Home Care Specialists was founded.
The Sheats feel that it is important that they give back to the communities they are a part of, whether that be with event sponsorships or volunteering. Erika has been a member of the Women’s Leadership Council, and Derek coaches softball and baseball teams yearly. They
have been involved in many community-related events as a way to give back, as well as sponsored the Alzheimer’s Association “Walk to End Alzheimers”, Morgan County’s State of Healthcare, and numerous United Way fundraisers.
The Sheats have two young children, ages 13 and 7. With aging parents and grandparents as well, they have first-hand experience of some of the challenges of balancing work, extracurricular activities, and the day-to-day needs of both families. Their primary goal is to be a trusted resource for others in similar, and more difficult situations.
